The Tour de France - and some suspect imitations...
As I 'pen' the latest missive for this blog on all things French, my
thoughts turn to the Tour de France...the famous bike race that we all
know and love!
At this moment, proceedings are underway on the island of Corsica, from Ajaccio to Calvi. It wasn't that long ago when we offered villa accommodation on the island, but eventually stopped the programme when it was clear it was unviable. Getting to Corsica is a feat in itself, flight times and arrival days never seemed to coincide with villa dates, thus making it a difficult thing to promote. It seems perhaps then that the best and fastest way to get around the island could well be on two wheels rather than four. So cue-ed up nicely then are some images sent to me from our colleagues in France, also following the action who have found some other forms of transport, possibly not seen by someone wearing a yellow jersey!
